Useful information
How to reach us
Valcamonica is easy to reach, from Lake Iseo or the Tonale Pass, by car, by train and from the main airports of northern Italy.
By car
The valley runs along the SS42 "del Tonale e della Mendola". From the south, you arrive from Bergamo or Brescia, reaching Lake Iseo and heading up the Camonica side; from the north-east, from Trentino, over the Tonale Pass and Ponte di Legno. The Valcamonica cycle path runs alongside much of the valley floor.
By train
The Brescia–Iseo–Edolo railway line (Trenord) runs the length of the valley floor, with stops in the main towns — Pisogne, Darfo Boario Terme, Breno, Capo di Ponte, Edolo — and runs alongside the cycle path for long stretches. On regional trains you can bring your bike on board (a ticket plus a bike supplement, with a limited number of spaces per train): handy for riding one way and returning by train. The eligible trains and the rules change with the season, so always check on trenord.it. In summer the BiciBus service (line BS2) connects Edolo to Ponte di Legno with buses equipped for bike transport, useful for reaching the upper valley.
By air
The nearest airports are Bergamo–Orio al Serio, Verona–Villafranca and Milan (Linate and Malpensa), all connected to the valley by car or via Brescia.
Where we are
The MTB Valcamonica association is based in Esine (BS), Via Grigna 34, in the middle valley. It's our point of reference: write to us for advice on routes, the best seasons and the most suitable starting points for those coming from outside the area.
